"Fish" Side Table/Stool

from A$90.00

Fish is more than just a furniture piece that is handy to carry around. It provokes conversations around seafood/sea life, plastic waste and sustainability. More specifically, it addresses the issue of micro-plastics in our oceans, on our beaches and in our sea life. This piece evolved over a year as I was travelling throughout New Zealand and Australia. Fishing, swimming, snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef, encountering beautiful wild sting rays and watching documentaries about the ocean I realised how important the sea and its inhabitants are, both to me and the whole world. Fish is the outcome of this collection of meaningful and eye-opening experiences. The hope is that some viewers may also start to question their beliefs and behaviour in regard to plastic, ocean conservation and the fishing industry, which all play an important role in the future sustainability of our planet.

Made in Melbourne. 335 x 335 x 450mm. Contact me for any enquiries.
